Welcome to FYShinsengumi!
This is a tumblr page dedicated to the Shinsengumi, a special "police" force created during the late Edo Period, or the Bakumatsu. They served the Tokugawa shogunate and were respected by many, but feared by all, nicknamed the "wolves of Mibu" for their ruthless and relatively harsh regulations.
the Shinsengumi are featured in many anime and manga today. This tumblr includes information and many pictures about the true historical group as well as the fictional representations. I will post movie, anime, tv show, and manga summaries, as well as interesting facts, screenshots, and videos we find here and there.

I could see how people would design Hijikata as pretty or handsome. he looks handsome here, I think. and dashing!
I wish more people would draw Hijikata Toshizo accurately, though. Everyone draws him with this long hair and this pointed face… LOOK AT THIS MAN. Hijikata-san is damned FINE this way. I wish we had more old photographs of the Shinsengumi. I’ve NEVER seen a real photo of Okita Soji, and there was maybe one of Saito Hajime? Augh I love me some Japanese history.
Glad to see someone agree with me!
On that note, I’d say the Hijikata in Watanabe’s Kaze Hikaru looks the most like him of all the versions.
As for a photo of Okita Souji, I’ve posted one on here a couple times I think… Oh well, I suppose it’s time to post it again! :)
